Built with a 2-layer Microshield nylon/poly twill, a fabrication that has been instituted in the entire 2011 line, Microshield provides an engineered shield against snow, rain and wind while maintaining a comfortable interior environment. Combined with a durable DWR-finished outer fabric, bonded to a technical waterproof breathable membrane, you are guaranteed increased levels of breathability with an unbreachable surface against the outside elements. But the weatherproofing doesn't stop there - the Richardson also features critically taped seams which protect the most vulnerable areas of the jacket, an adjustable, removable powder skirt that will keep snow from reaching the interior of the jacket after a bail and a jacket-to-pant interface that connects your jacket and pant together. And with 80gm of synthetic polyester insulation, it is the perfect weight for sunny bluebird to chilly overcast conditions. The Polyester is quick-drying and will help regulate the temperature inside the jacket, ultimately maintaining your level of comfort. The Richardson also comes armed with an integrated Zoned Lining System that provides targeted insulation in the chest and sides to keep you warm where your body needs it most while the insulation is thinned out in the arms for improved mobility.
